Job summary

The Water Resources Engineer I at Baxter & Woodman in Illinois will participate in developing hydrologic and hydraulic models for municipal stormwater and sanitary systems, support drainage studies, and design stormwater facilities. You will help prepare plans and specifications and participate in field inspections and permit processes.

You should have a 4-year B.S. in Civil Engineering (water resources preferred) and be willing to travel across the Chicago area.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources preferred.
• Experience or coursework in hydrology and hydraulics is valued.
• Willingness to travel across the Chicago region.

Responsibilities

• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for municipal systems.
• Assist with drainage studies and stormwater master plans.
• Design municipal stormwater facilities (open channels, culverts, basins, green infrastructure).
• Prepare plans and specifications for construction.
• Perform field work including inspections and observations.
• Assist with permitting with local, state, and federal agencies.
