Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Water Resources Engineer I to join the growing water resources group. You will model municipal storm sewer and sanitary systems and support drainage studies and masterplans for clients across the Chicago area.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Civil Engineering with a water resources emphasis, are willing to travel, and possess strong communication and teamwork skills. Comprehensive benefits and a collaborative environment await.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic infrastructure design principles and plan preparation.
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics.
• Ability to travel throughout Chicago area with own transportation.
• Strong verbal, computer, organizational and writing skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop Hydrologic and Hydraulic models of municipal storm sewer and sanitary systems.
• Assist with Drainage Studies and Stormwater Masterplans.
• Analyze and design municipal stormwater facilities (open channels, culverts, storm sewers, detention basins, green infrastructure).
• Drainage design for transportation, hydraulic structures, and site design.
• Prepare Plans and Specifications for Construction.
• Field work including Flood inspection or Construction Observation.
• Permitting with local, state, and federal agencies; assist with permit reviews.
