Farnsworth Group is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Illinois to lead and manage a range of stormwater, floodplain, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling projects. You will collaborate with clients and agencies, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development.

The role emphasizes design work, regulatory coordination, and delivering resilient infrastructure solutions within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving communities.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering.
• 10+ years experience in engineering field.
• Professional Engineering License (PE).

Responsibilities

• Manage several projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
• Design water resources engineering projects including natural channel design, green infrastructure, detention, culvert design, and IDOT storm sewer systems.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
• Conduct floodplain and drainage studies.
• Prepare reports on engineering analyses and model results.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies for stormwater requirements and permit approvals.
• Pursue new opportunities through business development efforts.
• Lead and mentor junior staff on engineering projects.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with clients.
