Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. The position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing both in-office and remote work. Job description

The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. This position offers a hybrid schedule of in‑office and remote work. As a member of the infrastructure team you will prepare project specifications, produce complete project documents, perform analysis and reporting, interpret data, carry out design, planning, and impact studies, conduct cost analyses and site selection, develop limited design layouts, design complete projects, systems and components, and perform quality control reviews and field observations of ongoing construction projects. You may also provide technical guidance, assign tasks to junior staff, and manage small multidisciplinary teams during the project duration.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Must
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program or possess equivalent experience.
  • Have a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Possess a professional engineer (PE) license in the relevant discipline if available.
  • Be proficient in production software and construction document production.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders.

Experience With The Following
  • Watershed delineation and determination of hydrological parameters.
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using ICPR 4/Stormwise, MIKE‑SHE, MIKE‑11 or SWMM.
  • Drainage analysis and design using Geopak Drainage, Subsurface Utilities Design and Analysis (SUDA) for Open Roads Designer (ORD), and/or ASAD.
  • Planning production using Microstation SS10 with Geopak, and/or FDOTConnect for ORD.
  • Proficiency with CADD (Microstation SS10, FDOTConnect for ORD, and/or Civil 3D).
  • Preparation of FDOT NexGen Plans per FDOT Design Manual (FDM) 900 Series.
  • Preparation of Estimated Quantities Reports for quantifying drainage features in ORD.
  • Experience with ArcGIS for water resources projects.
  • Prior experience with FDOT projects.
  • Prior experience with Broward and/or Miami‑Dade County projects.
  • Preparation of environmental permit application packages.
