Water Resources Engineer

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a qualified Water Resources Engineer with 4‑10 years of experience to support our Water Resources Group in the San Bernardino office. The Engineer will serve as a Project Engineer on complex water resource‑related projects for municipal clients and support other firm divisions as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide project engineering and task management on water resources design projects.
• Supervise and delegate work to junior engineers and support staff for hydraulic engineering tasks within large projects.
• Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
• Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
• Perform sediment transport and scour analyses to support water resources projects.
• Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
• Collect, evaluate, and present data in technical reports and oral presentations.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities, and other hydraulic structures.
• Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams of geomorphologists, biologists, planners, emergency managers, and additional hydraulic and water resources engineers.
• Contribute to business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree with an emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics (or related) preferred.
• 4‑10 years of increasingly responsible, professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water resource‑related projects.
• California Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
