Job summary

HDR is seeking a full-time engineering professional in Washington, DC to work on water resource projects for municipalities. Responsibilities include hydraulics modeling and producing technical reports among others.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities.
• Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
• Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
• Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference for local candidates.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Self-paced, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task.
