Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Resources Designer / EIT in Vienna, VA to contribute to hydraulic modeling and water resources projects for federal, state and local agencies. You will work under project engineers on design engineering and modeling techniques for water resources programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies
  • Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Water Resources Designer / EIT, we'll count on you to:

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local municipalities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference for local candidates
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Local candidates preferred

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software

Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Washington, DC: $83,742 - $113,298. Fulton, MD: $76,764 - $103,857. Glen Allen, VA: $57,470-$82,100. Roanoke, VA: $54,597-$77,995. Virginia Beach, VA: $54,470-$82,100.
