Job summary

City of San José is hiring for a Water Resources & Compliance Specialist in the Environmental Services Department. The role supports the development, implementation and monitoring of programs to ensure regulatory compliance for potable and recycled water systems, hazardous materials handling, and safety protocols.

On-site at the Municipal Water Office, you will conduct inspections, review plans, and coordinate with cross-connection staff.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental programs or related field.
• Experience in developing, promoting, administering, or implementing environmental programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to and supporting the O&M Environmental Compliance Program Manager in planning and implementing programs and projects to ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
