Job summary

State of Wyoming in Big Piney is seeking a Natural Resources Specialist to oversee water use decisions across a broad area of the Water Division. This role requires monitoring, analyzing, and reporting water usage, performing inspections of irrigation facilities, reservoirs, and land under water rights permits, and mediating water rights disputes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in sciences and 0–6 years of related experience, with strong knowledge of hydrology, water law, and data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences is required.
  • 0–3 years of progressive work experience in the Sciences with knowledge at Natural Resources Specialist level, or 4–6 years of progressive experience in the Sciences with knowledge at Natural Resources Specialist level.

Responsibilities

  • Measures, monitors, regulates, documents, and accounts for the use of water supplies.
  • Daily accounting of water usage.
  • Researches, compiles, and reports water rights information.
  • Meets with water resource users and mediates water rights disputes.
