Job summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Civil Manager to join our Water group in the AECOM Los Angeles, California office. As a Civil Manager, you will lead technical design teams in creating conceptual layouts and designs for water resources projects, including flood control, storm drains, pump stations, and green stormwater projects.

Your responsibilities will include managing the preparation of comprehensive construction package deliverables, developing hydrologic and hydraulic models,

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 8 Years of related experience in drainage design or demonstrated equivalence of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) in CA or ability to obtain within 6 months of work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and completion of construction package deliverables (design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, alternatives analysis, technical memoranda, design reports).
• Generate conceptual layouts/designs of flood control structures, floodgates, channels, culverts, detention ponds, and storm drain systems.
• Serve as lead engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projects.
• Develop project proposals and support growth of the surface water practice in LA region.
• Provide direction to and mentor other technical staff in completing project tasks.
• Perform independent reviews of engineering reports and sign off on work.
