Job summary

The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation in Billings, Montana seeks a career Civil Engineer to help design, build, and protect water and related resources for the public.

You will lead civil design efforts, review work, perform field visits, and coordinate with field offices to ensure safe, sustainable infrastructure. Candidates must hold a Professional Engineering license and meet other federal requirements; this is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree required with PE license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to perform field inspections and prepare designs and drawings.
• Experience reviewing designs from A/E firms and field offices.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a security/background check.

Responsibilities

• Design civil structures and features of water-related projects.
• Prepare civil designs and technical drawings and specifications.
• Review civil designs prepared by others for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct field visits to collect data and verify site conditions.
• Assign work to team members and track progress to meet deadlines.
• Provide technical advice to Area Offices on engineering plans.
