Job summary

Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government seeks a Treatment Plant Operator (Water Quality) to operate a wastewater treatment plant and ensure regulatory compliance. The role involves monitoring SCADA alarms, rounds, data recording, and sample collection with laboratory analysis support.

The position requires a Kentucky Class I license or equivalent, a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years of related experience. Overtime is possible, and on-call shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related experience.
• Equivalent education may substitute for experience.
• Must possess Kentucky Class I Wastewater License or equivalent from another state.

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater treatment plant and monitor SCADA systems.
• Perform daily plant inspections and report repairs.
• Record data and meter readings on forms and reports.
• Collect and test water samples and send to lab for analysis.
• Add chemicals to disinfect and deodorize water as needed.
