Job summary

Discovery Cove Orlando is seeking a senior Ambassadors leader to oversee dive team operations, safety, and staffing. You will coach staff, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate cross-department efforts to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years diving in aquatic facilities, 2+ years leadership in water quality, and SCUBA certification, with strong communication and physical fitness.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a working diver in an aquatic life support facility or other water treatment facility.
• Must have a minimum 2 years’ of leadership experience in Water Quality or similar Maintenance Shop.
• Must have strong knowledge of fluid hydraulics and advanced water treatment processes.
• Must be SCUBA certified and pass a pre-employment dive physical.
• Must be able to complete provided CPR training/certification.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to swim and work in/around water.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, push/pull 80 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, reach, twist, and turn with complete flexibility.
• Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Direct leadership and oversight of dive team operations during assigned shifts, prioritizing daily work and supervising staff.
• Lead pre-shift briefings, communicate priorities, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Document operational, safety, and personnel issues and suggest process improvements.
• Serve as a primary contact for after-hours operational decisions and escalate issues to management.
• Be the primary resource of technical information for the department.
• Order and maintain proper stock of materials for smooth department operation.
• Support budget control and manage daily timesheets and weekly schedules.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and maintaining qualifications of divers.
• Collaborate with other departments and perform ad hoc duties as instructed.
