Job summary

Golden State Water Company, a leading water utility in California, seeks a Manager to oversee the Water Quality Department. You will lead a team of supervisors and technical staff, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental regulations and driving KPI-based program improvements.

The role requires extensive coordination with regulatory agencies, preparation of test data for budgeting and rate cases, and representation in industry groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required.
• Graduate degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience in water quality, environmental engineering, regulations, and operations.
• Supervisory and leadership experience required.
• Water utility experience preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Directs water quality efforts to ensure compliance with all water quality and environmental regulations and programs.
• Establishes and implements water quality standards, procedures, and controls for sample collection, testing, treatment and compliance.
• Oversees regulatory permits and permit amendments and ensures timely acquisition.
• Develops, monitors, and manages KPIs for water quality programs and regulatory compliance.
• Attracts, hires, trains, and develops staff in the Water Quality department.
• Represents Golden State Water in state and national industry associations or advisory groups.
