Job summary

Coachella Valley Water District seeks an Environmental Services Administrator to lead the Water Quality and Compliance division within Environmental Services. The role directs programs, budgets, and contracts, ensuring compliant operations across district-wide functions.

The position requires eight years in water quality/ resources management and five years in supervision, with a California driver’s license; reports to the Director of Environmental Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, biology, environmental science, natural resources management, or other job relevant field.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in water quality management, water resources management, or related fields.
• Minimum of five (5) years of direct managerial/supervisory experience.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and oversees daily Environmental Services programs with district-wide impact.
• Develops budgets, allocates resources, and ensures program compliance with funding.
• Develops, administers, and oversees contracts and requests for proposals.
• Liaises with regulatory agencies, public/ private organizations, and stakeholders.
• Stays informed on water quality regulations and implements policy changes as needed.
• Leads staff development, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as required.
• Represents the division in meetings with external partners and internal departments.
