Job summary

City of Corsicana is seeking a Lab Technician to perform regular physical, bacteriological and chemical analyses of water and wastewater. You will maintain records, calibrate instruments, and ensure adherence to EPA and state requirements.

Responsibilities include sample collection, QC procedures, and collaboration with inspectors and contractors to meet regulatory standards. A high school diploma and state Certifications are required, with benefits and city retirement options available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Grade C Wastewater Operator’s Certificate within two years of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain a Grade C Surface Water Operator’s Certificate within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily tests on water and wastewater using EPA/TCEQ approved methods.
• Maintains lab records and documentation as part of the QA program.
• Calibrates and maintains laboratory instruments daily.
• Collects, preserves, and ships samples for analysis and reports results to appropriate agencies.
• Works with inspectors and external labs to ensure compliance with regulations.
