Job summary

Citizens Energy Group is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to perform complex chemical, biological, and physical tests of water and wastewater. You will compile data for reports, support studies, and serve as a technical resource in the lab and field.

The role may lead special projects, support peer learning, and help with SOP development and process improvements. Minimum salary starts at $68,300 per year, grade 8, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science or related field, or a combination of education and laboratory experience equivalent to four years.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and statistics.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to apply logical/scientific thinking to problems including instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Able to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license and ability to drive utility vehicles.
• Adhere to PPE and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs contaminant analysis using laboratory instrumentation, including manual methods.
• Records and computes results and maintains quality control records.
• Sets up equipment for tests and maintains QA/QC procedures.
• Prepares chemical solutions and maintains chemical stores inventory.
• Develops SOPs for new methods and communicates issues to supervision.
• Responds to customer inquiries and may analyze samples from field work.
• Other duties as assigned.
