Florida Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Specialist II to monitor water quality and perform biological assessments in Pensacola, FL. You will manage data, calibrate meters, and support field teams in freshwater, estuarine, and marine environments.

Responsibilities include QA/QC of data for WIN/DMT/SBIO databases, technical reporting, equipment maintenance, and assisting training. Travel and boater safety are required; boating may be needed for fieldwork.

Competenze

• Five years of verifiable environmental science experience or related field.
• Requires travel (day and overnight).
• Medically monitored position.
• Boater safety training due within 9 months of hire.

Mansioni

• Perform water quality sampling in freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecosystems.
• Carry out biological assessments of streams and lakes.
• Manage data entry into DEP databases (WIN, DMT, SBIO) and perform QA/QC.
• Provide technical assistance and training; assist in field logistics and equipment maintenance.
• Operate boats as part of field duties and coordinate field sampling events.
