Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Supervisor - Resource Protection and Compliance to oversee daily operations of water quality programs and manage inspection and monitoring activities ensuring compliance with potable water, pretreatment, source water protection, and storm water regulations.

The role develops SOPs, evaluates regulatory changes, and leads teams across departments to address environmental issues affecting public health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, geology, environmental science, hydrology, hydrogeology, or related field.
• Five years' experience in program management, including three years supervising personnel.
• Demonstrated leadership and technical expertise in potable water, recycled water, stormwater, or related field.
• Proficient in word processing, database, presentation, modeling, and GIS software.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews activities of personnel performing environmental audits, site inspections, and surveys to determine compliance levels.
• Develops and implements SOPs and QA/QC for inspection and monitoring activities.
• Leads inter-departmental teams handling environmental issues and public health impacts.
• Prepares correspondence and technical reports for government agencies and stakeholders.
• Evaluates and recommends modifications to protection and compliance programs.
• Presents information to customers and the public on water quality and watershed management.
