The NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Associate Chemist I for the Hawthorne Laboratory in Hawthorne, NY. Under supervision, you will perform aqueduct sample collection and laboratory analysis of samples for physical analytes such as color, scent, turbidity, and conductivity.

Responsibilities include data reporting, QC, and support functions to ensure efficient laboratory operations, with potential night/holiday shifts. Requires NYS CLT license and chemistry coursework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 16 semester credits in chemistry and 8 in related sciences.
• License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (NYSED) required at appointment.

Responsabilités

• Perform aqueduct sample collection.
• Analyze samples using manual and automated procedures.
• Support laboratory operations and QC activities.
• Data reporting and QA/QC.
• Maintain glassware and prepare solutions.
