Job summary

The City of Santa Clara is seeking a skilled Water and Sewer Utilities Technician to support installation, operation and routine maintenance of the City’s water distribution, sewer collection, and recycled water systems.

The role requires high school or GED, two years in water/wastewater operations with at least one year on pumps and motor controls; valid CA driver’s license and CWEA certificates; on-site work with on-call duty as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of construction/operations/maintenance in water or wastewater; 1 year with pumps/controls.
• Licenses/certifications must be obtained as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate and perform routine maintenance on water and sewer pumping systems.
• Inspect and service motor-driven pumps, controls and appurtenances.
• Assist in maintaining SCADA data, pressure monitoring and interconnections.
