Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in the American Southwest is seeking a Southern Arizona Water Projects Coordinator to advance water conservation and habitat resilience across the San Pedro River region. You will work with partners, tribal communities, and agencies to design and implement projects that protect freshwater ecosystems and support local communities.

Youll lead volunteer coordination, use ArcGIS for mapping, and manage grant processes while collaborating with staff across the Arizona Water

Qualifications

• BA/BS in science-related field and 3 years of related experience.
• Experience with ecological land management or water conservation.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders across rural Arizona.
• Willingness to travel within Arizona and the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on multidisciplinary teams to implement water conservation and restoration projects.
• Plan and participate in citizen science events such as Wet/Dry Mapping and BioBlitz.
• Develop external relationships with agencies, landowners, and watershed groups.
• Utilize ArcGIS to produce maps for internal and external uses.
• Draft grant proposals and manage contracts with specialists.
• Work in variable weather, at remote locations, and travel within Arizona.
