Job summary

AE2S in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead project teams and deliver high-quality water engineering solutions on time and on budget. You will supervise project engineers, junior engineers, and technicians, and work closely with clients to maintain relationships and pursue opportunities.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, PE or to obtain within six months, 4+ years in municipal water, strong communication, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering with focus on water market sector (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development.
• Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members.
• Knowledge of design standards and permitting.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may apply (background check, drug screen, MVR).

Water Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager - Sioux Falls, SD

The Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager will be responsible for the performance of project team members and will work closely with team members to provide high-quality deliverables on time and on budget to AE2S clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional services for water engineering projects to include planning, study, design, and construction administration on projects

• Provide mentorship for team members.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months
• 4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development
• Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members
• Knowledge of design standards and permitting

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
• 8+ years of experience in municipal water engineering (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of project financials & funding programs

Physical Qualifications

• Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
• May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
