Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Engineer for our Water Business Group in the United States. You will join a collaborative team delivering water and wastewater projects, performing calculations, preparing reports, and coordinating with multiple offices to meet client needs.

The role emphasizes independent work, teamwork, and contribution to an employee-owned culture. A PE license and civil engineering degree are required, with the opportunity to impact public health and infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or registrable.
  • Ability to work independently and within a project team.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead projects related to water, wastewater, and water resource management.
  • Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, technical reports and plans with precision.
  • Analyze data and present findings in professional reports and memos.
  • Take initiative and work independently while coordinating with Project Managers.
  • Lead portions of design work ensuring high-quality deliverables meeting standards.
  • Assist with permitting applications and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate across multiple offices and disciplines to keep projects on track.
