Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Engineer for its Water Business Group to deliver high-impact water and wastewater projects across multiple locations. You will crunch design calculations, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with offices to support client outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and a PE license, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and be accountable for the results.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead projects related to water, wastewater, and/or water resource management.
  • Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, technical reports, and engineering plans and specifications with precision and creativity.
  • Accumulate and analyze data, presenting findings in professional reports, memos, and presentations for internal and client use.
  • Take initiative and work independently while collaborating effectively with Project Managers and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Lead portions of design work and help ensure high-quality, accurate deliverables that meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Assist with permitting applications and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with team members across multiple offices and disciplines to keep projects on track and aligned.
