The City of Denton is hiring for multiple Water Production Operator positions (I, II, III) with hourly rates ranging from $16.43 to $31.16. These roles involve performing water quality tests, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring compliance with water regulations. Candidates must have a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and the ability to work shifts.
Essential Functions:
Water Production Operator I - $16.43 - $23.41 Hourly
·Collects and performs Water Quality Tests
·Performs calculations for chemical additions; fills and adjusts chemical feeder
·Performs custodial duties, such as sweep, mop, etc.
·Troubleshoots equipment and process control problems
·Assists Operator with maintaining SCADA to ensure proper water levels and system pressures
·Assists Operator with minor maintenance of feed pumps, instrumentation, etc.
·Drains sludge and backwashes filters
Water Production Operator II - $19.88 - $28.33 Hourly
·Gathers and performs Water Quality Tests
·Maintains proper water levels in storage tanks
·Troubleshoots equipment and process control problems
·Performs minor maintenance
·Prepares chemical solutions and calibrates process instruments
·Performs calculations for chemical additions
·Records hourly meter readings and backwashes filters
·Fills and adjusts chemical feeders
·Performs jar tests
·Maintains process control balance to maintain quality and regulatory compliance
Water Production Operator III- $21.87 - $31.16 Hourly
·Collect and perform Water Quality Tests.
·Maintains proper water levels in storage tanks.
·Troubleshoots equipment and process control problems.
·Performs maintenance.
·Prepares chemical solutions and calibrates process instruments.
·Records meter readings fill and adjusts chemical feeders.
·Performs jar tests and sets chemical dosages.
·Backwash filters and drains sludge valves.
·Maintains process control balance to maintain quality and regulatory compliance.
·Assist in the review and updating of the Standard Operating Procedure Manual annually.

Minimum Qualifications
Water Production Operator I
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Water Production Operator II
