Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for its Water Division in Dallas, TX. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through the preconstruction phase, help secure GMPs, and shape bid strategies to win projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating estimators, review of bid documents, and preparing competitive proposals while building subcontractor relationships. Travel to bidding regions will be required.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience or 5 years’ experience with college degree
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Exposure to Preconstruction stage of a project
• Familiarity with estimating and scheduling software
• Identifies key issues and relationships
• Effective communication and adaptability
• Ability to travel for projects bidding in different regions

Responsibilities

• Coordinates teams of estimators, project management, and proposal staff to secure collaborative delivery projects, facilitates the preconstruction process through a successful GMP negotiation and procurement of the project
• Participates in pursuit strategy development and implementation of strategic vision
• Reviews and understands bid documents to assess risks and advise on bid alternatives and techniques
• Prepares bid packages involving comparison and analysis of bids
• Leads responses to RFPs to position the company as bidder of choice
• Coordinates with sponsorship on schedule, general condition, and final bid preparation
• Conducts debriefing meetings to evaluate positives and lessons learned
• Assists in presenting client pitches and networking with industry participants
• Travels for projects bidding in different regions
