Job summary

Walsh Group seeks a Preconstruction Manager for its Water Division in Dallas, TX. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams during the preconstruction phase, help pursue new work, and influence project direction and financial outcomes.

The role requires coordinating estimators, project managers, and proposals to deliver competitive, profitable bids while building strong relationships with subcontractors and owners. Travel to bidding regions is expected.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in construction or estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Exposure to preconstruction phase of a project.
• Familiarity with estimating and scheduling software.
• Willingness to travel for projects in different regions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate teams to secure collaborative delivery projects and guide preconstruction.
• Review bid documents, assess risks, and advise on bid alternatives.
• Edit and proof proposals to produce competitive, profitable bids.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, engineers, and owners.
• Prepare bid packages and lead responses to RFPs.
• Coordinate schedule, general conditions, and final bid preparation.
• Conduct turnover/debriefings and capture lessons learned.
• Compile documents for bid submission (bond, signatures, forms).
• Support client pitches and industry associations to grow work.
