Job summary

City of Harrisonville is seeking a Water Plant Operator to treat raw water and produce potable water in compliance with MDNR and EPA standards. You will perform lab tests, maintain equipment and records, and support emergency response procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and MDNR license within one year. Training and weekend coverages may apply.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver's license is required.
• MDNR Water Operator License Class D must be obtained within one year.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors the water treatment plant to meet standards.
• Conducts lab tests and prepares daily reports on water quality.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Follows safety rules for chemical handling and PPE usage.
• Responds to alarms and emergencies and coordinates with maintenance staff.
