Job summary

Middlesex Water Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to lead safe, timely preventive maintenance, capital replacement, and emergency repairs at water facilities. You will support the company values of Respect, Invest, Growth, Honesty and Teamwork and work with senior staff on complex tasks.

Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment issues, supervising technicians, updating CMMS records, and handling on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid NJ driver's license.
• NJDEP Treatment Operator Level 1 License (T-1).
• Training in Confined Space Entry, LOTO, MWC electrical personnel designation and 40-hour HAZWOPER.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily and near-term preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Maintains and troubleshoots complex equipment including pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and basic instrumentation.
• Inspections of plant equipment, metering pits, and remote facilities; report deficiencies.
• Assist with scheduling maintenance activities and verify completion of work.
