Job summary

Middlesex Water Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to operate, repair, install and maintain equipment at pumping stations, water storage facilities, booster stations, metering pits and well fields. Qualifications

Six years' experience in operation and maintenance of equipment pertinent to water facility operations.
A specific trade skill in chemical feed system, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. may be required at time of hire.
Must have the ability to obtain T-1 license within three years of date of employment.
Good verbal communication skills with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Willingness to work outdoors and in extreme climates.

Responsibilities

Operates, repairs, installs and maintains equipment at pumping stations, water storage facilities, booster stations, metering pits and well fields.
Maintains instrumentation including flow and pressure meters, recording devices, and related equipment.
Maintains chemical feed equipment and water treatment facilities.
Performs plant and facilities start up or shut down as required.
Attends training courses and seminars as required.
Assumes on-call responsibilities and may work overtime on short notice.
