Job summary

The City of Longview is seeking a skilled laborer for installation, maintenance, and repair of Water plant equipment and components to ensure safe, compliant operation. The role includes reading technical manuals, performing preventive maintenance, and keeping detailed maintenance logs.

You will work in Water Plant facilities, with responsibilities spanning from equipment repairs to safety adherence and incident response, while pursuing required licenses within defined timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one year of technical maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a Class D Water license from TCEQ in five months; ability to obtain a Class C license within nine months; or Millwright I classification within nine months.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled labor in installation, maintenance and repair of Water plant equipment and components.
• Reads and interprets technical manuals and assists with facility and grounds maintenance.
• Repairs equipment and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and components.
• Maintains safety compliance and reports hazards, equipment problems and emergencies.
• Maintains daily work logs and records of maintenance services performed.
