Job summary

The City of Longview is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator to support the operation of the City Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant. You will monitor, inspect, maintain, and adjust equipment according to specifications and codes, and assist with tests and shift logs.

Your role involves performing basic to semi-skilled tasks, operating pumps and SCADA facilities, and following safety rules. A valid Texas Driver's License is required, with opportunities to obtain Class D and Class C licenses

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and one year of operations and maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain Class D Water license from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within five months.
• Ability to obtain class C license is required within nine months of meeting TCEQ requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate water purification and transmission facilities as assigned.
• Monitor SCADA gauges and adjust processes.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks.
• Record readings and report anomalies.
