Job summary

C.J. Hughes Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipelayer for our Water Division. This is a hands-on, field-based role that may require travel between project sites to install, maintain, and repair water pipelines and related infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have pipelaying experience, read blueprints, and work safely outdoors in all weather. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks are required. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in pipelaying for water distribution or underground utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Strong understanding of trench safety and shoring.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and connect water pipelines ensuring proper alignment and grade.
• Excavate trenches and prepare sites according to specifications.
• Read blueprints and job specs to meet grade and piping requirements.
• Work with PVC, ductile iron and other piping materials.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized job site.
• Travel to various project sites as needed.
