Job summary

SERVPRO Team Miller in Indianapolis is hiring a Restoration Technician to respond to water and fire incidents on site and begin the claim process with the crew chief. You will assess scope of work, perform demo as needed, and monitor daily progress.

You will work in two-person crews, follow production guidelines, and communicate clearly with customers and the crew chief. Physical work includes lifting, cleaning, and equipment setup in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Effective oral communication is required.
• Experience in cleaning/restoration is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to travel locally and out of state as needed.
• Must be able to pass a background check where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls as needed.
• Work in crews of two: technician and crew chief.
• Assist with preparing rooms and staging areas for work.
• Maintain vehicle, equipment, and shop areas in a clean, organized state.
• Ensure customer needs and concerns are clearly communicated to the crew chief.

Job Description

This position is a part of our Restoration / Water Mitigation Team, you are the first responders onsite for water damage claims and you are responsible for beginning the claim process, determining the scope of work, performing demo as needed, daily monitoring and diary notes, and job closeout/customer satisfaction survey. Working in crews of two - technician and crew chief, you respond to service calls as needed and perform services as assigned, following SERVPRO® production guidelines. Communicate with the crew chief to make sure all customer needs are met. Support crew chief and other production personnel, as needed. Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas, as needed.

• Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance
• Prepare rooms/areas for work activities
• Set up staging area and equipment for each project
• Leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
• Perform production processes following SERVPRO®production guidelines per work order per crew chief directions
• Ensure clear two-way communication with crew chief and other technicians (especially regarding customer needs and concerns)
• Perform end-of-day/end-of-job cleanup and breakdown to leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
• Understand and follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling

Qualifications

• Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Exposure to chemicals
• Walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing,
• Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights
• Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawls spaces under buildings)
• Repetitive pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects
