Class One Property Restoration, Inc. is seeking an experienced Water Mitigation Manager to lead our water damage and emergency mitigation division, overseeing projects from first notice of loss through drying completion and hand-off to reconstruction.

The role combines hands-on technical knowledge of structural drying with leadership, customer service, and job-costing skills, supervising crews, coordinating with adjusters, and ensuring safety and documentation on every job site.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all water mitigation projects, from emergency response through final drying and demobilization.
  • Perform or review initial site inspections, moisture mapping, and loss assessments.
  • Classify water damage by category and class, and set drying plans that follow the IICRC S500 standard.
  • Direct equipment placement, daily moisture monitoring, and drying documentation.
  • Identify hazards such as mold, asbestos, lead, or other risks and escalate per procedures.
  • Coordinate hand-off to reconstruction team after mitigation.
  • Supervise, schedule, and support mitigation crew leads and technicians.
  • Manage the on-call and after-hours emergency response rotation.
  • Train and coach staff on drying techniques, safety, equipment, and documentation.
  • Conduct performance check-ins and assist hiring for the mitigation team.
  • Enforce safe work practices, PPE use, and OSHA requirements on every job site.
  • Prepare or review mitigation estimates using Xactimate or company-approved software.
  • Ensure complete job files: photos, moisture logs, drying reports, work authorizations, and signed documents.
  • Monitor job budgets, labor, materials, and equipment use to protect gross margin.
  • Support timely invoicing and collections by closing out job files promptly.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for property owners during mitigation, explaining the process clearly.
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters and third-party administrators on scope and documentation.
  • Clearly separate Class One's scope of work from the insurance carrier's coverage decisions when speaking with customers.
  • Build relationships with agents, property managers, plumbers, and commercial clients to grow referrals.
  • Manage drying equipment inventory, including dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubbers, and meters.
  • Track equipment maintenance, cleaning, and repair.
  • Recommend equipment purchases to support job volume and growth.
  • Help meet division revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Identify and pursue new mitigation opportunities (commission eligible).
