Job description

A structured 12-month, on-the-job apprenticeship (~2,000 field hours) that takes someone with no restoration background to a fully certified Water Mitigation Technician. You work alongside senior techs on live emergency water losses from day one, earn IICRC certifications on the company's dime, and advance through defined wage steps as you hit milestones.

This is a full time hourly position and starts at $19/hr. By the end of the first year, you will be making $26 per hour.

Months 0–3:

Ride-along and assist. Safety, PPE, equipment identification, extraction, setup under direct supervision. Pass WRT.

Months 3–6:

Run setups on straightforward Category 1 and 2 losses with periodic check-in. Own daily monitoring routes. Accurate moisture logs without correction.

Months 6–9:

Lead a small job start to finish, including customer walkthrough and scope documentation. Take on-call rotation independently. Pass ASD.

Months 9–12:

Handle Category 3 losses, containment builds, and mentor newer apprentices. Documentation clean enough to submit to carrier without rework.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Able to lift and carry 50–75 lbs repeatedly, climb ladders, work in crawlspaces, attics, and confined spaces, and stand/kneel/bend for full shifts
• Must be clean-shaven at the sealing surface when respirator use is required (OSHA tight-fitting respirator rule)
• Comfortable working in wet, hot, cold, and contaminated environments in full PPE
• Smartphone-capable — the job runs on photo and data documentation
• Reliable transportation to the shop
• No experience required. Construction, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, kitchen, or military background is a plus.

Compensation: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
