Job summary

The City of Lee's Summit is seeking a Meter Specialist in the Metered Services division. You will ensure the accuracy and operation of bulk water meters, hydrant meters, and backflow devices, and interact with customers to resolve service issues.

This role requires three years of meter experience, relevant certifications, and the ability to train staff. You will work under the Metered Services Supervisor and help maintain compliance with AWWA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of meter reading, testing, replacement and customer service experience.
• Valid Missouri Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Backflow Tester certification required within six months.
• Confined Space Safety and Entry certification within six months.
• OSHA 10 certification within six months.
• MO DNR DS-I license required within twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and proper operation of bulk water sales meters and equipment.
• Interact with customers to resolve service-related complaints.
• Test water meters as necessary in accordance with AWWA standards.
• Perform QA/QC tasks and assist in training Metered Services staff.
