Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support water and wastewater testing, develop procedures, and optimize chemical dosing through jar tests and pilot-scale evaluations. The role requires handling samples, reagents, data, and maintaining equipment in a safety-focused lab environment.

The position involves operating small-scale lab instruments, performing pH, DO, color, temperature, ORP, and hardness tests, and coordinating with third-party labs.

Qualifications

• Experience with quality control and lab procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed lab procedures and safety sheets.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle precise chemical data.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word for data handling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operating procedures for water treatment tests.
• Perform jar tests to optimize chemical dosing.
• Conduct silt density index and pilot scale evaluations.
• Perform column and batch testing for resins and carbon adsorbents.
• Operate and maintain small-scale lab equipment.
• Prepare samples and reagents for analyses.
• Conduct pH, DO, color, temp, ORP, and total hardness tests.
• Pull samples for third-party lab analysis.
• Maintain reagents, inventory, and calibration records.
• Maintain SDS documentation.
• Manage and communicate data; keep lab area clean.
