Job summary

City of Manchester, NH's Water Works Laboratory seeks a Laboratory Manager to plan, organize, and administer operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will develop and implement QA/QC programs, manage budgets, train personnel, coordinate interdepartmental projects, and provide accurate water quality reports to leadership and the public.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of analytical methods and laboratory procedures.
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes and water quality.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive analytical reports and SOPs.
• Knowledge of NH ELAP accreditation and related regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manages, directs, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel, delegating daily tasks.
• Oversees all laboratory functions, protocols, and procedures for compliance.
• Develops and administers the Laboratory budget and coordinates with finance.
• Trains and mentors staff, participates in hiring, and ensures safety and data integrity.
