Job summary

Englewood Water District seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to operate its certified laboratory in Englewood, FL. The role focuses on monitoring process control, maintaining PT programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The incumbent will oversee analyses, data reporting, staff supervision, and budgeting related to the laboratory. A bachelor’s degree in science is required, with 5+ years in an accredited lab; a Water/Wastewater license may substitute for the degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or environmental sciences required.
• A Water and/or Wastewater Operator’s License will be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an accredited laboratory, preferably water/wastewater testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all laboratory operations including analyses, data reduction, reporting, staff management, time management and multitasking, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the laboratory quality assurance officer.
• Ensure maintenance of laboratory certification.
• Conduct data review, internal audits, training, and quality control checks.
• Train and supervise laboratory personnel and evaluate work performance.
