Job summary

City of Fort Worth is seeking a Water IT Programmer Analyst II to develop, maintain, and support moderately complex applications used by the Water Utility. The role emphasizes customer service, dependable delivery, and collaboration across the Water IT team.

The incumbent will work on web, internet, intranet, and client-server applications, applying programming best practices, planning, testing, and deployment. On-site in Fort Worth, TX with growth opportunities in Oracle RightNow/OSS and UMAX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Two (2) years experience in information systems design/administration, systems analysis, or programming
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Participate in a 24 x 7 on call rotation

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve moderately complex application and data problems.
• Assist in efforts to implement innovative solutions that enhance application performance and user experience.
• Participate in the design, program development, maintenance and testing of new and changed functionality for applications.
• Assist users with data analysis, queries and ad-hoc reports to support operational and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Document technical solutions, maintain specifications, and contribute to technical standards and knowledge sharing.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design, develop and implement application modifications, interfaces, and integrations.
• Coordinate system software upgrades, migrations, patches, or maintenance with divisions and vendors; escalate issues as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality, responsiveness, efficiency of information systems and seek continuous improvement.
• Adapt and self-educate on new technologies to provide recommendations for their use.
• Perform other duties as required.
