Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Water IT team is seeking a Programmer Analyst II to develop, maintain, and support moderately complex applications across web, intranet, and client-server platforms for the Water Utility.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent customer service, communication, and dependable delivery in a collaborative environment. Position is onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, with 24x7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Two years experience in information systems design/administration, systems analysis, or programming.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Participate in a 24 x 7 on call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve moderately complex application and data problems.
• Assist in efforts to implement innovative solutions that enhance application performance and user experience.
• Assist users with data analysis, queries and ad-hoc reports to support daily operational, business process, and utility regulatory reporting requirements.
• Document technical solutions, maintain specifications, and contribute to technical standards and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Work with business users to analyze business requirements and translate into technical specifications and design, develop and implement application modifications, interfaces, and integrations.
• Coordinate and execute system software upgrades, migrations, patches, or system maintenance with other Fort Worth Water Department divisions and vendors.
