Job summary

Water Systems Consulting (WSC) is seeking summer internship students for 2027 in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Planning, or related fields. Interns will work with designers, planners, project managers, and hydrogeology teams to advance water, recycled water, and infrastructure projects.

Based in one of our offices (Folsom among others), interns will participate in meetings, assist with planning, modeling, design, and technical reporting under senior guidance, gaining hands-on experience and

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a full-time program pursuing a BS or MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, City and Regional Planning, BioResource & Agricultural, Construction Management, or related field.
• Must be in good academic standing and proficient with MS Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: experience with AutoCAD, ESRI GIS and hydraulic modeling software.
• Able to work under deadlines and demonstrate time management.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in staff, public, and client meetings.
• Model water delivery systems.
• Prepare simple hydraulic calculations and analyses.
• Assist in research, planning, and design of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Perform technical writing and assist with development of technical reports.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with subconsultants.
• Data entry and analysis; provide general program and construction management support.
