Job summary

Atlas is seeking an Associate-level Mechanical Inspector focused on field verification of critical infrastructure installations. You will review drawings, witness tests, and coordinate non-conformances while maintaining thorough documentation.

Role requires strong communication, proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam, and a valid driver's license. Work involves site-based inspections on water/wastewater or industrial projects with safety and quality at the forefront.

Qualifications

• 5 years of mechanical inspection or construction experience.
• Experience on water wastewater heavy civil or industrial infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs and isometrics.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, piping systems, testing and commissioning.
• Familiarity with AWWA, ASTM and ASME standards preferred.
• Experience with welding inspection or CWI certification is a plus.
• Procore, Bluebeam and MS Office proficiency.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to pass background check, MVR review, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect process piping, pumps, valves, treatment equipment, foundations, supports and restraints.
• Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Witness and document hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, equipment startup and commissioning activities.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to support inspection activities.
• Document non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain daily reports, field documentation and photo records.
• Participate in pre-installation meetings, hold points and quality reviews.
• Monitor contractor quality control activities and support project commissioning efforts.
