Job summary

Atlas Technical Consultants in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Systems Inspector to support water infrastructure projects in OR and WA. You will inspect mechanical systems, piping, pumps, valves, and treatment equipment to verify compliance with specifications and codes.

The role requires strong field presence, attention to detail, and collaboration with contractors, engineers, technicians, and project leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical inspection or construction experience.
• Experience on water, wastewater, heavy civil, or industrial infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and isometrics.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, piping systems, testing, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with AWWA, ASTM, and ASME standards preferred.
• Experience with welding inspection or CWI certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect process piping, pumps, valves, treatment equipment, foundations, supports, and restraints.
• Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
• Witness and document hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, equipment startup, and commissioning activities.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to support inspection activities.
• Document non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain daily reports, field documentation, and photo records.
• Participate in pre-installation meetings, hold points, and quality reviews.
• Monitor contractor quality control activities and support project commissioning efforts.
