District 196 Community Education Aquatics Program is seeking a Water Exercise Instructor to motivate and teach water exercise courses per current standards and district goals. Location varies among multiple middle schools; position requires preparing equipment, arriving early, and ensuring student safety.

The role emphasizes professional interaction with participants, adherence to policies, and following the Emergency Action Plan.

Qualifications

Must relate to adults professionally.
Strong leadership and public relations skills.
Sound decision-making skills.
Maintain self-control in stressful situations.
Professional certifications in exercise science recommended (AEA, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NDEITA, MEITA, YMCA).
CPR for Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety of students and follow all district rules.
Communicate with customers professionally; refer unresolved issues to Aquatic Coordinator.
Conduct classes per current exercise principles and participant needs.
Incorporate varied exercises and equipment.
Arrive 15 minutes before class; prepare equipment.
Start and end classes on time.
Comply with state health dept requirements; arrange substitute when needed.
