Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties seeks a Water Aerobics Instructor to design and lead water fitness classes at Mel Korum Family YMCA in Puyallup, WA. You will create a safe, engaging atmosphere and tailor sessions to varying skill levels, promoting health and wellness in the community.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of related experience, a strong ability to demonstrate water fitness skills, and current lifesaving certifications.

Qualifications

• One year or more related experience preferred.
• Experience with adults and diverse populations.
• Ability to demonstrate water fitness skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks.
• Willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Design and instruct water fitness classes in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Instruct water fitness classes for a variety of skill levels.
• Prepare lesson plans.
• Give clear directions, cues, and demonstrations.
• Create a safe and positive atmosphere.
• Promote member safety and engagement.
• Help others improve flexibility, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular conditioning.
