Job summary

McCormick YMCA in Chicago is seeking a Water Fitness Instructor to lead engaging and progressive water fitness classes on-site. You will ensure participant safety, prepare exercise plans, and assist with facility setup and emergency readiness.

The role includes maintaining certifications and supporting lifeguards when needed. Salary starts at $20.00 per hour plus a fitness pay plan and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Must have current Water Fitness certification.
• Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead water fitness classes with a personalized approach.
• Gives clear explanations of safe exercises and demonstrates correct form and provides safe alternate exercises.
• Sets up facility or equipment.
• In case of injury, accident, or illness in pool area and provides backup to lifeguards as needed in emergencies.
• Reports injuries and completes required procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
