Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Water Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, personalized water fitness classes, create progressive exercise plans, and ensure participant safety. You will assist with facility setup and provide emergency support when needed.

This role requires current Water Fitness certification and the ability to respond to emergencies with CPR and First Aid. The position offers a starting pay of $20 per hour, a fitness pay plan, and opportunities for growth within the

Qualifications

• Must have current Water Fitness certification.
• Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead water fitness classes with a personalized approach.
• Prepares progressive exercise plans for program participants.
• Gives clear explanations of safe exercises and demonstrates correct form and provides safe alternate exercises.
• Sets up facility or equipment.
• In case of injury, accident, or illness in pool area and provides backup to lifeguards as needed in emergencies.
• Reports injuries and completes required procedures.
• Maintains current certifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
